How To

How to make an omelet that is perfect

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. How can you make them perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This can make your omelets look bizarrely colored. If you plan to cook the eggs right away, it is best to use room temperature eggs.

Another tip is to separate each egg before adding them to the saucepan. You don't want any white to get mixed up with the yolk because this could cause the omelet to curdle.

If you add the egg directly onto the stovetop, you might end up burning the bottom part of the egg, which would ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, microwave the egg for 10 seconds before adding it to the pan. The microwave heat is sufficient to cook the egg without overcooking.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Next, shake the bowl vigorously. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

Now comes the fun part - pouring the milk into the mixture. Pour half the milk into the beaten egg mixture and then fold in the eggs. Don't worry if there are still streaks of egg visible; these streaks will disappear once you flip the omelet.

After folding the eggs, place the pan on medium heat and wait for the oil to start sizzling. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. Open the lid and sprinkle salt on the pan. The salt will help to prevent the omelet's sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet has formed completely, cover the pan and let it set for a few minutes. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the other half for another minute. Take out the omelet and place it in a bowl.

This recipe works best using whole milk. Skimmed milk is also possible.
